What if a simple hiking trip or backpacking trip went sour and you had to only rely on yourself for survival? Would you know what to bring? Would you know what to do to meet your most basic needs as humans to survive the elements? What happens when you get lost and you have lost all ability to rely on technology? Would you be able to look at the things around you and see potential or would everything look the same to you? Do you know what gear to bring that is the most beneficial for survival? Things happen unexpectedly in life and in nature every single day. Why not develop more skills and knowledge to be more self-reliant? You may not always going to have that phone that has GPS or a group of people who can keep you safe. Best practice is to only rely on yourself in times of desperation. Having the skills and knowledge to go into nature gives you more confidence and the reassurance that you can handle whatever is thrown your way. Nature shouldn't be something that is feared. It's something that should be used to refresh perspective and calm your mind. We want to help you with that. We can answer these questions and so much more here at the Pike download project. We strive to make people better woodsman and be more reliant on their own skill sets and instincts. We hope you will come out to a class and see what we are all about. Remember, knowledge is power.
